Welcome to the Humble Book Club Website. I hope you will find this site to be informative. My name is Joan
Nicholes. I am a single mother to a beautiful 17 year old daughter and a recent cancer survivor. I have a fondness
for writing as well as for reading. You can read some of my writing here on this very website. You can read
my poetry collection, short stories, and even a full-length novel. Just click on the tab that says My Writing and "happy
reading". I have begun to build my very own library. I simply love books. Mostly I love to read romance.
But I can read nearly anything as long as I like the style of the author. I hope that you will take the time to look
this website over and join the Humble Book Club. We'd love to have you.

How Will The Humble Book Club Work?
The Humble Book Club is open to anyone in the Humble, Kingwood, Porter, Atascocita and surrounding areas. I will
arrange for our first meeting to be held at the Octavia Fields Library off of Will Clayton and South Houston Avenue.
Each member of the group will be selected to pick a book and that person will host the next meeting at his/her home where
we will have a themed lunch either on Saturdays or Sundays. For the first meeting we will draw numbers to see who will
host the first meeting. Then the second meeting and so on and sor forth. I will make a list of each members name,
their number, and the book of their chosing that they would like for us to read. So come prepared with your book preferance
so it can be noted. The list will then be posted on the website for all members to see. Each month a notification
will be sent to each member reminding them that the next meeting is coming and what the theme of the lunch will be such as
a speghetti lunch, or mexican fiesta, or chinese. We will mix it up to keep it interesting. You can send me a
list of what you plan to bring and I can post it on the website so that we can make sure not to duplicate dishes. The
host of the meeting will have a series of questions to ask the members to help them share their thoughts about the book we
have read. Feel free to make comments about any topic not mentioned during the discussion group that you think would
be of interest to other members.
